BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT: Celebrating Spring

I’m Margaret South writer, teacher, and story coach.

If you’ve found your way here, chances are you have a story you want to tell. Maybe you’re just starting out. Maybe you’ve been writing for years but feel stuck. Or maybe you have pages and pages and aren’t quite sure what to do with them yet. I’ve been there and I love helping writers find their way through that moment.

For more than 30 years, I’ve worked with writers at every level, from beginners discovering their voice to seasoned professionals refining their craft. My background spans both Hollywood storytelling and literary writing, which means I care deeply about structure but never at the expense of heart. Story matters. Meaning matters. And your voice matters most of all.

In my workshops and coaching sessions, we focus on clarity, confidence, and momentum. I offer practical tools you can actually use simple frameworks that help you organize your ideas, strengthen your characters, and shape your work into something whole. Whether you’re writing memoir, fiction, or a screenplay, my goal is to help you create work that feels true to you and ready to share.

I believe writing doesn’t have to be lonely or overwhelming. It can be thoughtful, challenging, and even joyful especially when you have support. If you’re looking for virtual creative writing classes or an online writing coach who meets you where you are, I’d be honored to work with you. I’d love to help you tell your story.

What does yoga have to do with writing?

Funny story. From the time I first started practicing yoga, instructors told us to clear our minds and “be present.” For over thirty years, I have found that practicing yoga provides me with some of my most creative ideas. I leave the studio refreshed and motivated.

I met Tammy Virchow in 2015. Homegrown Yoga became my second home as I navigated my way through caregiving for aging parents and demanding teenagers.

Tammy studied with Laura Tyree at Dragonfly Yoga Studio in Fort Walton Beach, FL and completed her 200-hour certification in 2007. She has also taken numerous workshops and classes with a variety of teachers such as Cat McCarthy, Nancy LaNasa, Allison West, and Doug Keller. Most recently, she completed an online training through Yoga Detour. Tammy moved to Warner Robins, GA in 2015 and was happy to find a yoga community. Tammy combines humor and humility in her classes and invites people to access their own light-heartedness and curiosity. She is especially interested in kinesiology and functional movement and helps her students explore how poses feel within their bodies and minds, not necessarily creating the picture-perfect pose. Tammy believes in yoga for every body.
